Through the Ag Action program, MAAS (MB Association of Ag Societies) has received funding to “help Ag Society boards to acquire a broader understanding of the critical issues around governance.”
MAAS is offering governance related workshops, with the first workshop addressing the Ag Society Bylaws.
Bylaws are your fundamental governing rules and in order to receive the Education and Infrastructure Grants, Ag Societies must submit up-to-date bylaws. The last time Ag Societies submitted updated bylaws was over 10 years ago.
The following are the dates and locations for the bylaws workshops. Some have been held however there are still a number available to attend. Feel free to attend whichever date works for you. Attached is the updated registration form and you may choose to register for the workshop in another District. Pre-registration is required and there is no cost to attend. You are highly encouraged to have more than one director from your Ag Society attend. Because volunteers come and go it is important for succession planning to have more than one person on the board with a working knowledge of your bylaws.
